"Be cheerful. Strive to be happy."
Weirdest Couple. Ever.
Tuesday, February 23, 2010

I THINK WE'RE THE WEIRDEST COUPLE, EVER.

For one, most couples I know can go on days and weeks and even months without seeing each other, especially my friends in Medical school whose boyfriends are studying or working somewhere else. They're content seeing their partners during the weekend or whenever time permits.

And sometimes, I WISH WE COULD SURVIVE WITH JUST THAT.

The thing is, we can't last too long without seeing or being with each other - if we're not together, rest assured we'll be texting or calling each other every few minutes. It's not like we don't trust each other, we just want to be together at all times. We miss each other dearly every single minute of everyday, when without the other. It's so weird.

It may be attributed to the fact that we're such best of friends and that we've shared almost everything together. I really don't know. But, I'm so glad God has blessed him with a job that starts at 1300; hence, we still have brunches every other day if not, every single day.

And after almost 23 lunaries, I can't believe we're still head over heels in love with each other! I'm so happy that God is keeping us happy in love together.

A love like this is worth all those years I've stayed single. Patience is, indeed, a virtue!

One of the few.

The Clothes You Wear Personality Test

The analysis: You are probably a clever and adventurous person. You love to learn new things, and enjoy socializing with friends. Although you enjoy your freedom, you cherish peacefulness and like to spend time alone with your thoughts.

What others see from your style:
Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ : You tend to be a gentle, pleasant person. You love nature and at least, some of the arts. Derive great satisfaction from being helpful. You are stubborn and are not interested in wealth or power.

What your nightclothes reveal:
Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ : You are friendly, always in good mood. You are candid, helpful and can be sexy at times too.

What others see from your ties:
Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ : You enjoy being alone. You like to life the simple but good life. You cherish your freedom. You are thoughtful, confident, uninterested in glamor.

What others see from your belts:
Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ : If there's not a single belt in your wardrobe, you like freedom and are opposed to all kinds of rules. You are creative, very good at work that requires you to stretch your imagination. Your main downfall, however, is that you can be very moody.

What others see from your shoes:
Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ : You like to be the center of attention. You like to look good at all times, probably never leave the house without makeup on. Although you may be intelligent, you're also insecure about your looks, you care about others, and will always listen to what they have to say.

What others see from your earrings:
Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ : You are probably a free spirit at heart with artistic talent. You are absolutely unique, always coming up with lots of great ideas. Being happy is your most important goal.

----

Most of the results are very accurate. Guess what I picked with the "shoes" question... heels! Hahaha :)) While others strive for power and wealth, I'm very glad to be striving for happiness. Nothing beats being happy at all times and seeing the silver lining amidst the dark clouds.

Commentaries of an Old Lady
Monday, February 22, 2010

On S's Facebook wall:

S: Patience is the virtue, but time is still gold. We need to be patient to learn and experience things that we can't learn by reading books and going to school, but we also can't be slow with our actions and decisions in life because we can't bring back time. :)

E: Time waits for no man. Time is money. If you waste time, you're wasting money.

S: That's what I realized

Aileen: .. but money is not everything. But I think no time is wasted when it's spent on learning :) What's most important is we live everyday as if it's our last.

E replied with some comments saying that I was being disrespectful because it was a conversation between her and her nephew, and that I should keep my thought to myself. I was troubled by that comment so I texted her nephew to explain my views and apologize for appearing to be disrespectful. After a few minutes, the comment E made was replaced with...

E: Whatever..

----

What is wrong with what I said?

This reminded me one of the saddest realities - that a lot of people still have greater regards for money than for the simple things in life. E reminds me of my mom, who would rather work 24/7 than spend a weekend going to Tagaytay or even to the mall. It may seem noble to work and work and work for the family but the family cannot survive with money alone, more often than not, families happily live when they are able to enjoy and experience things together.

Some people are misguided with what should be regarded as important, and whenever you try to correct their beliefs, with the wave of hand, they tell you, "whatever..."

----

Just so you know, S is a friend of mine while E is his materialistic and shallow tita.

----

I talked to my dad about this and thank God, we have the same point of view! ♥

At last, fun weekend!

Last weekend was mostly spent at the Philsports Arena - where the Association of Philippine Medical Colleges held its annual "Palarong MED", a two-day sports fest exclusively participated my Medical students from the National Capital Region.

As for the USTFMS Women's Football event, we defeated FEU (7 - 0), UP (1 - 0), UERM (1 - 0) and ADMU (1 - 0), but lost over DLSU on penalty shootout. We ended up third in the event just because of that one loss. Too bad because I know we could beat again UP for the championship title. Rawr.

Here's the standing of the other UST FMS representatives:
  • Basketball Women's - Champion
  • Basketball Men's - 2nd place
  • Soccer Women's - 3rd place
  • Soccer Men's - 4th place
  • Swimming Men's - 2nd place
  • Swimming Women's - 2nd place
  • Table Tennis Men's - Champion
  • Table Tennis Women's - 2nd Place
  • Badminton - Women's - 3rd place
  • Badminton- Mixed - Champion

CONGRATULATIONS USTFMS ATHLETES :)
I am pleased to inform you that we emerged as the
PALARONG MED OVER ALL CHAMPION
(tie with UP)

In this fast changing world where everyone you want to stay in touch with is just a few clicks away, sometimes we neglect the proper construction of sentences, we keep everything concise and short.

My new pet-peeve is receiving replies which says "okay" "ok" "k" or "tnx" or "elo" or "nyt" (-.-) I JUST HATE THOSE.

I don't have time to elaborate on this, but I wish people would text a little more completely.
And USE EMOTICONS... I LOVE EMOTICONS!
